French toast casserole is a warm, custardy dish made with thick bread cubes soaked in a cinnamon-spiced egg mixture and baked to golden perfection. Topped with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and a drizzle of maple syrup, it’s a comforting breakfast that’s easy to make ahead for holiday mornings.
- 1 loaf of French bread cut into cubes
- 6 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Powdered sugar and syrup for serving
Grease a 9x13 baking dish. Place bread cubes evenly in the dish.
In a bowl, mix eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
Pour the mixture over the bread, pressing gently to soak.
Cover and refrigerate overnight, or bake immediately at 350°F (175°C) for 30–40 minutes until golden.
Dust with powdered sugar and serve with syrup.
