Egg and sausage casserole is a hearty breakfast dish layered with savory sausage, fluffy eggs, and melted cheese over a bed of bread cubes. Baked to golden perfection, it’s a warm, satisfying meal ideal for feeding a crowd on busy holiday mornings.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 cups cubed bread day-old works best
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the sausage in a skillet until browned. Drain excess grease.
  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs and milk. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a greased 9x13 baking dish, layer the cubed bread, cooked sausage, and cheese.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the top.
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes or until set and golden.
  • Serve warm.
