Valentine's Playdough

Here’s a super easy DIY playdough recipe that’s perfect for this love-filled holiday. We’ll make it in lovely red or pink colors and give it a Valentine’s Day twist!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 cup of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups of boiling water
  • Red or pink food coloring
  • Optional: Glitter, Sequins, Spangles and Valentine-themed cookie cutters

Instructions

  • In a big bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and cream of tartar. This combo will make your playdough last longer and stay soft.
  • Pour in the vegetable oil. Slowly add the boiling water and stir. Be careful, it's hot! Now, here's the fun part: add a few drops of red or pink food coloring. Keep adding until you get the color you love. If you're feeling extra festive, throw in some glitter for a sparkly effect!
  • Once the mixture cools down a bit and starts to form a dough, take it out of the bowl and knead it on a flat surface. If it feels too sticky, add a little more flour until it's just right.
  • Now, let your creativity shine! Use Valentine-themed cookie cutters to make heart shapes, or you can even roll it out and cut out letters to spell "LOVE" or your child's name. It's all about having fun and making memories.
  • Have a blast playing with your Valentine playdough! When you're done, store it in an airtight container so it stays soft and you can use it again.
