Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes are a must-have, but making them at the last minute can be stressful. These make-ahead mashed potatoes solve that problem and let you enjoy creamy potatoes without the rush

Ingredients
  

  • 5 lbs Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream or milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 garlic cloves peeled (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Boil the potatoes until tender, then drain.
  • Mash the potatoes, adding butter and cream until smooth.
  • Season with salt and pepper, and add garlic if you like.
  • Transfer to an oven-safe dish, cover, and refrigerate until ready to bake.

Notes

When it’s time, reheat in the oven at 350°F for 20-25 minutes. Give them a final stir before serving to bring out that creamy texture.
