  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set it aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Slowly pour in the milk while whisking to prevent lumps.
  • Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, stirring until the gravy thickens. Remove from heat.
  • Cut the biscuits into quarters and spread them evenly in the greased baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the cooked sausage over the biscuit pieces.
  • Pour the gravy evenly over the sausage and biscuits.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs until combined.
  • Pour the eggs over the casserole, ensuring they spread evenly.
  • Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the eggs are set and the biscuits are golden brown.
  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
