The Disney Polynesian Resort is one of my absolute favorite Disney resorts! As a local, I sometimes just go there to walk around the stunning property! Families, couples, and lone visitors will all enjoy the gorgeous resort’s immersive experience, which is situated in the center of Walt Disney World. It’s also famous for the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, a luau-style experience complete with traditional Polynesian dancing and music.

The Disney Polynesian Resort is one of the only places in Disney World where guests can view the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach. The Disney Polynesian Resort is a well-loved vacation spot, and accommodations frequently sell out. Ladies, if you’re looking to snag that perfect room at the best price, you gotta act fast and make those reservations ASAP! You can contact the Disney Reservation Center by phone or online to make a reservation.

At this gorgeous, tropical sanctuary with palm trees and other luxuriant greenery, celebrate the spirit of the South Pacific. Parking

As of May 21, 2024, overnight self-parking will be complimentary for guests staying at Disney Resort hotels at Walt Disney World Resort, including the Disney Polynesian Resort. If you prefer valet parking, it is available for a fee of $39 per night, which includes sales tax. For day guests, standard self-parking is complimentary while they enjoy select dining, shopping, entertainment, and recreation experiences at the resort. (fees and services may change) Regardless of which option you choose, the Disney Polynesian Resort offers convenient and safe parking to all its guests.

Minnie Van Service

If you’re looking for a stylish and convenient way to get around Walt Disney World Resort, consider using the Minnie Van service Connected by Lyft at the Disney Polynesian Resort. This transportation option allows you to dash about the resort in true Disney style, with Minnie Mouse-themed vehicles driven by friendly and knowledgeable Disney Cast Members. The Minnie Van service is an additional charge, and not included with your stay. However, the convenience and fun factor may make it worth it for some guests. With the Minnie Van service, you can easily travel between the Disney Polynesian Resort and other destinations within Walt Disney World Resort, such as theme parks, water parks, and other Disney resort hotels. So if you’re looking for a unique and enjoyable way to get around, consider using the Minnie Van service at the Disney Polynesian Resort.

Resort Services

The Disney Polynesian Resort housekeeping staff cleans your room daily. The self-service laundry area is open 24/7 for laundry and dry cleaning. If you need to send postcards or letters, the front desk can give you choices that have already been stamped. They can also give you packages that have already been packed and labeled. Overall, the Disney Polynesian Resort tries to give guests a trip that is stress-free and fun. Housekeeping, laundry, and mail services are some of the ways they try to do this.


Recreation

You should immediately begin exploring all that the Disney Polynesian Resort has to offer once you get there. Some of the highlights are as follows:

Beautiful and lush tropical gardens are a feature of the Disney Polynesian Resort. Admire the numerous exotic plants and flowers on exhibit as you stroll through the grounds.

The Disney Polynesian Resort is known for having a tropical feel, and now you can take some of that magic home with you. The Polynesian Aloha candle has a fresh, clean smell that will take you to paradise and remind you of the resort.

Beaches and Water Activities

The resort’s beaches are great for sunbathing or swimming. You may also go on guided fishing excursions or rent a variety of boats, such as kayaks and paddleboards.

Pools

The Lava Pool is a must-see for guests of all ages, featuring a towering volcano, a waterfall, and a thrilling 142-foot-long waterslide. The pool also has a zero-depth entry point, similar to a beach, which slopes gently into the water for easy entry and exit. Nearby, a lounge and bar offer refreshments and snacks so that you can stay fueled up while you make a splash.

For those who prefer a more tranquil swim, the Oasis Pool offers a more relaxed setting. Nestled amid lush gardens, this all-ages leisure pool provides the perfect spot to unwind and relax. For privacy, rent an Oasis Patio with cushioned lounge chairs, towels, and more. First-come, first-served patio rentals accommodate up to six people. You can even place food and drink orders from the Oasis Bar & Grill and have them delivered directly to your patio (separate dining charges apply).

To add to the fun, the Lava Pool offers daily family-friendly activities like themed pool parties, games, relays, and trivia. So whether you’re looking for excitement or relaxation, the Disney Polynesian Resort pools have you covered.

Polynesian Village Campfire Activities

What better way to end a day at the Disney Polynesian Resort than with some good old-fashioned family fun? Join in on the resort’s campfire activities and roast marshmallows by a crackling fire as the sun goes down. This classic activity is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day spent exploring the parks or lounging by the pool.

The campfire activities take place on Seven Seas Lagoon Beach. Campfires are roaring from 5:30-6:30 pm every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The peaceful setting of the beach provides a serene backdrop for an evening of relaxation and fun.

Outdoor Movies

Looking for a relaxing evening activity that the whole family can enjoy? Look no further than Movies Under the Stars at the Disney Polynesian Resort. This complimentary outdoor screening of popular Disney films is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day in the parks.

Located on the Great Ceremonial House Lawn, Movies Under the Stars is held on select nights as weather permits. Movie screenings take place at 7:30 pm on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. There are plenty of opportunities to catch your favorite Disney flick!!

The Disney Polynesian Resort is a paradise for foodies, with an array of dining options to choose from. Barefoot Pool Bar is the perfect place to relax with a tropical drink at the base of the Nanea Volcano. If you’re looking for classic and South Seas-inspired cuisine, head over to Capt. Cook’s for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or late-night snacks. Pineapple Lanai pays homage to the pineapple, the symbol of hospitality, with a refreshing frozen DOLE WHIP®.

For continental cuisine with an Asian twist, check out Kona Café, where the open kitchen showcases the skills of the sushi chefs. Tambu Lounge in the Great Ceremonial House is a tribute to the tiki god and offers a full bar of libations and Hawaiian-inspired choices for late-night snacks.

For a Polynesian-themed breakfast and dinner experience, ‘Ohana is the perfect choice. If you’re looking for a poolside retreat, head to Oasis Bar & Grill for tropical cocktails, wine, beer, and assorted beverages. Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is a tropical watering hole filled with an enchanting collection of nautical treasures, mystical totems, and volcanic vistas.

Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace is an open-air lounge where you can listen to live music and sip tropical drinks. Kona Island offers coffee beverages and pastries in the morning and sushi rolls and miniature desserts later in the day. Whatever your dining preferences may be, the Disney Polynesian Resort has something to satisfy your taste buds.


Mickey’s Hide and Seek: Discovering Hidden Mickeys at the Polynesian Resort

At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, engaging in a Hidden Mickey Scavenger Hunt can be a delightful activity. This hunt takes place primarily in the Great Ceremonial House, which is the main building where the lobby is located. Here are some specific locations where you can find Hidden Mickeys:

  1. Entrance: When you first arrive, check your feet. You’ll find a Mickey made of flowers on the ground, welcoming you to the resort.
  2. Front Desk: Look closely at the stone behind the front desk. This one might be a bit challenging, but there’s a Hidden Mickey preserved there alongside Minnie.
  3. BouTiki: Inside the BouTiki shop, there’s a tiki statue with a Hidden Mickey on the back of it.
  4. Coffee Area: If you’re a fan of specialty coffee, pay attention to the tiles in that area. Though it might be a bit ambiguous, one of the tiles here has a Hidden Mickey.
  5. Stairs: As you explore the resort, don’t miss the Hidden Mickeys along the stairs. They are more noticeable and easier to spot.
  6. Artworks: Some paintings in the resort hide a Mickey in the sand. It adds a creative touch to the art pieces.
  7. Moana Mercantile: Up on one of the shelves in this shop, you’ll find a glass Mickey wrapped in a net.
  8. Lanterns: Lastly, look up at the lights, where a Hidden Mickey is subtly incorporated into one of the lanterns.

These are just a few of the numerous Hidden Mickeys scattered throughout the Polynesian Village Resort. It’s a fun way to explore the resort while engaging in a playful scavenger hunt with your family. Remember, some of these Mickeys can be quite subtle and challenging to spot, adding to the excitement of the hunt.

Going to Disney World parks

To really experience Walt Disney World, stay at the Disney Polynesian Resort. It’s on property, and you can literally walk to the Magic Kingdom without having to mess with driving or taking a bus.

Plan – You are going to walk to make a game plan. Plan your time at the Disney World parks carefully. You don’t want to miss anything that is on your “must-do list! Prioritize your must-see activities by making a list of the attractions and performances you wish to see.

Utilize Extra Magic Hours – If you’re a visitor to the Disney Polynesian Resort, you can benefit from Extra Magic Hours, which let you enter the parks earlier or remain later. This is a fantastic method to enjoy well-liked attractions with reduced lines.

Take Breaks and Relax – With all the excitement and bustle throughout the day, it’s crucial to take breaks and unwind periodically. Sit by the pool, nap in your room, or stroll the grounds at your own pace. You can recharge and enjoy your visit more as a result.
