Reusable Straw and Utensils Set

With Disney’s move away from plastic straws, having a reusable straw is a smart choice. Get a set that includes a straw and utensils, all with a Disney theme. This set is convenient for meals and snacks in the park and helps reduce waste.

Disney-Themed Travel Pillows

If you’re traveling to Disney by plane or car, a travel pillow can make the journey more comfortable. Choose one with a Disney theme to start your trip off right. These pillows are great for kids and adults alike, making travel time more enjoyable.

Disney Collectible Pins

Collecting Disney pins is a fun and unique way to remember your trip. Start with a few pins and a lanyard, and trade with cast members and other guests throughout your visit. It’s a great way to engage with the park and come home with special souvenirs.

Disney-Themed Water Bottle

Staying hydrated is important, and a Disney-themed water bottle is a must-have and a fun way to encourage everyone to drink more water. Look for insulated bottles that keep drinks cold throughout the day. These bottles can be refilled at water stations around the park.

Comfortable Disney Pajamas

After a long day at the park, slipping into comfortable Disney pajamas can be a cozy way to end the day. Choose pajamas with your favorite characters to keep the magic going even after you leave the park. It’s a small touch on your Disney must-haves list that can make your trip feel even more special.

Special Disney Experiences

Consider booking special Disney experiences like behind-the-scenes tours, dessert parties for the fireworks, or VIP experiences. These unique activities can add an extra layer of magic to your trip and create unforgettable memories. Look into these options ahead of time and book early, as they often fill up quickly.

Comfortable Shoes

One of the most important items on your Disney must haves list is comfortable shoes. You’ll be on your feet all day, walking miles around the park. Sneakers or well-cushioned sandals are a good choice. Blisters can ruin the fun, so make sure whatever you choose is already broken in. It’s also smart to pack an extra pair of socks. Fresh socks can make a huge difference by midday.

Weather-Appropriate Clothing

Florida’s weather can be unpredictable. You might start the day in sunshine and end it in a downpour. Layers are key. Lightweight, breathable fabrics work best. In the summer, think about moisture-wicking clothes to stay cool. Don’t forget a hat and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun. A poncho or lightweight rain jacket can save the day during those unexpected showers. You can find cheap ponchos at dollar stores, which are easy to pack and carry.

Sunscreen and Personal Care Items

Sunscreen is a must-have for any outdoor activity, especially in Florida. Apply it before you leave and bring a travel-sized bottle for reapplying throughout the day. Also, pack a small first aid kit. Band-aids, pain relievers, and antiseptic wipes can come in handy. Hand sanitizer and wet wipes are also good to have, especially after enjoying some of Disney’s famous snacks.

Portable Phone Charger

You will need your phone a lot at Disney. From taking pictures to checking wait times on the Disney app, you’ll use it a lot. A portable phone charger can keep your phone alive throughout the day. People always stop me at Disney and ask where I got my cordless portable charger. You should definitely check it out! That is a lot easier than having that cord stick out of your pocket all day. Make sure it’s fully charged before you leave your hotel.

Autograph Book and Pen

If you’re traveling with kids, an autograph book is a fun way to capture memories. Disney characters are scattered throughout the park, ready to sign autographs and take pictures. A retractable pen or marker is easier for characters to use with their large gloves.

Disney Autograph Book

This Disney autograph book features a soft blue cover with a Mickey & Friends theme, perfect for collecting signatures. With plain 5×8-inch sheets, it’s a stylish and convenient keepsake for Disney fans of all ages.

Backpack or Bag

A good backpack is essential to carry all your Disney must-haves. It should be comfortable, with padded straps and enough compartments to keep things organized. You don’t want something too bulky, but it should be large enough to hold all your essentials.

Money and ID

Even though you can bring your own food, you’ll probably want to buy souvenirs or enjoy some Disney treats. Make sure you have some cash and your ID. Most places in the park accept credit cards, but it’s good to have some cash just in case.

Planning Ahead

Make a list before you go to ensure you have everything you need. Checking off items as you pack can help you stay organized and prevent any last-minute stress. Consider downloading the Disney app to help plan your day. It provides real-time information on wait times, show schedules, and dining options.

Kid-Specific Disney Must Haves

If you’re traveling with little ones, there are a few extra things to keep in mind. Strollers are a must for younger kids. Disney offers rentals, but bringing your own can save time and money.

As of June 2024, for single strollers, recommended for children 50 lbs. or less, the daily rate is $15, while the multi-day rate is $13 per day. If renting at Disney Springs, a $100 USD credit card deposit is required. Double strollers, suitable for children 100 lbs. or less, are available at a daily rate of $31 or a multi-day rate of $27 per day. To save, you can pre-pay for a Length of Stay rental ticket, which allows you to pay less per day for multiple days. Simply show your receipt at the rental location in the theme park to receive your stroller for the day.

Don’t forget a small blanket or towel for nap times. Also, pack a change of clothes for the kids. Between the water rides and possible spills, it’s good to have a backup. Small toys or coloring books can help keep kids entertained while waiting in lines.

Personal Comfort

Think about what will make your day more enjoyable. A lightweight scarf or shawl can be useful for chilly indoor attractions or evening parades. Also, pack some basic toiletries, like lip balm and tissues. Comfortable, breathable masks are also necessary if you’re visiting during a time when health guidelines require them.

Special Considerations

If you have any special needs or health concerns, plan accordingly. Disney is very accommodating, with many services available for guests with disabilities (DAS). Research these options ahead of time to make the most of your visit. Guests with special dietary needs can choose from a wide range of dining options at Disney. My son is allergic to milk (dairy), eggs, peanuts and treenuts and the chefs at Disney have always been amazing, many times actually coming out of the kitchen and over to our table to discuss safe options for him.

Emergency Preparedness

It’s always good to be prepared for the unexpected. Knowing where the first aid stations are located can be helpful. Having a meeting spot in case anyone gets separated from the group is a smart idea. Make sure everyone in your group knows this spot and what to do if they get lost.

Insulated Cooler Bag

An insulated cooler bag can be handy for keeping snacks and drinks cool throughout the day. Opt for one with a Disney theme to add some magic to your practical items. It’s perfect for carrying fruit, sandwiches, and other perishable snacks. As of June 2024, cooler bags need to be 24″ long x 15″ wide x 18″ high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) or smaller. For keeping items cool, reusable ice packs are recommended since loose or dry ice is not allowed.

Disney PhotoPass

Consider purchasing Disney PhotoPass. This service allows Disney photographers to take your photos at various locations around the park. It’s a great way to capture professional-quality pictures without worrying about getting everyone in the shot. Plus, you can enjoy the moment without being stuck behind the camera.

Final Thoughts on Disney Must Haves

Packing for Disney doesn’t have to be a headache. With a little preparation, you can ensure you have all your Disney must-haves ready to go. Remember, comfort and convenience are key. Keep these tips in mind, and you’ll be set for a magical day at the happiest place on earth. So, pack smart, stay hydrated, and enjoy every moment of your Disney adventure.
